Mike Tyson

Former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson, who had been living large for years, recently admitted that he is absolutely penniless.

Unfortunately, Tyson has lived a financially reckless life, with fast, expensive cars; booze aplenty; drug dabbling; supporting hanger-ons; and mindless spending. He filed for bankruptcy seven years ago and is still reeling from its effects.

The famed boxer was recently interviewed on ABC-TV 'The View' and assured the panel of celebrity hosts that he has permanently buried the demons that once controlled his life.

Tyson, who was convicted and imprisoned for rape, has been married three times and has six children from various past relationships. Now, Tyson admits to solely concentrating on his true love, wife Lakiha "Kiki" Spicer (pictured below right) and his family.

Mike TysonWhen 'The View' co-host Joy Behar asked Iron Mike whether he had any money left in the bank at all, he responded, "No, I'm totally destituted and broke. I had a lot of fun. It [going broke] just happened. But I'm very grateful. I have an awesome life, awesome wife and awesome kids. I don't deserve to have the wife that I have; I don't deserve the kids that I have, but I do, and I'm very grateful."

The 43-year-old said that he had to tear himself down to build himself up. Now he says he's in a good place, which is why he agreed to do an 'Animal Planet' reality show that follows him as he raises and races pigeons in his hometown of Brooklyn.

The show is set to air next year.
