Police investigators have confirmed the hot tub drowning death of the 2-year-old son of famed former NFL Philadelphia Eagles quarterback
Randall Cunningham.
The child, Christian, is the youngest of Cunningham's four children. He died Tuesday afternoon, after wandering in to his backyard and falling in to the hot tub. He was found floating in the water behind Cunningham's Las Vegas home.
A woman at Cunningham's house was with several children, when she found the boy at around 4:30 p.m. Reportedly, she removed the child from the hot tub and began performing CPR but was unsuccessful. Paramedics took the boy to St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena campus in Henderson, Nevada, where he was pronounced dead.
Abuse and neglect detectives were investigating the incident and determined that no charges will be filed against Cunningham and his wife, Felicity. The investigators have categorized the unfortunate incident as an accident.
Cunningham, who was a quarterback on four NFL teams, was a celebrated player with the Eagles and then the Minnesota Vikings. He retired in 2002 and eventually decided to answer a call of a more divine order.
The former gridiron star became a non-denominational, multicultural fellowship pastor and was ordained in 2004. Later that year, he opened Remnant Ministries. Ironically, the hot tub in the backyard was used to perform baptisms. Our deepest condolences go out to Cunningham and his family.

This is sad and I bet Randall was not at home. Just the women, had this happened and only Randall was there; he would be charged. Different laws for men and women in this matter.

This is so sad. I'm praying for the family and friends. This is heartbreaking. And to think the pool was used for baptisms. Somebody explain where God is in this. I don't understand. I'm not blaming God, I just don't understand.

I AM SO SORRY TO SEE THIS. IT BROKE MY HEART, MAY GOD GIVE YOU THE STRENGTH TO COPE WITH THIS. YOU WILL NEVER FULLY RECOVER FROM LOSING A CHILD. HE WILL ALWAYS BE PART OF YOU AND YOU PART OF HIM. I LOST MY ONLY SON LAST YEAR. EVERY DAY IS HARD SOME MORE SO AND SOME LESS. BE STRONG.

Oh! No! not another child dying from drowing in pool at a home closeby. Children move very fast must always be supervised. This is tragic. My condolences to the family. For the sake of the other three children,shut the tub off/down.

What a heartbreaking story. As Tricia said, little kids move fast. I have lost two children at different points in their lives and it is the most gut wrenching experience ever and I would not wish it on my worst enemy. It never goes away. Just kind of shifts and re-assembles itself.
