Tiger Woods Divorce Nears End

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren's life as married folk is nearly kaput. The couple's lawyers are duking it out, trying to settle a few little kinks that both parties can abide by without as much as a peep.

Despite all of the heartache and pain that fair Elin has gone through over the last year, she is getting paid big time. Reportedly, Elin may come away with as much as $700 million, enough to buy an entire Kleenex factory to wipe those tears.

But money isn't at the center of the ongoing legal discussions; the couple's children and confidentiality clauses are probably what is holding the process from becoming final.

An unnamed source told E! News that the couple is trying to keep their business out of the streets and behind closed doors, which means, settling out of court. "If they can't agree, they will go to trial," the source said.

Apparently, Tiger wants to call the shots by keeping a muzzle on his ex-lady love. The man-about-town does not want Elin to spill the beans on their relationship in any shape, form or fashion:

"He doesn't want her to write a book or anything and she wants full custody," the source alleges.

What will probably happen is that the couple will share custody of their two children, 3-year-old daughter Sam and 1-year-old son Charlie. There's been talk that Elin wants to fly the coup and raise her children in her native land, Sweden. Tiger is not too happy about Elin's proposed move but might not have much to say in the matter because of his hectic travel calendar. Tiger is said to want at least one weekend a month with his children.

There is also speculation that Elin will wind up keeping the Jupiter, Fla., compound which will serve as a second home. The tennis pro's former estate is very near his spanking new, fantabulous, $80-million digs on the exclusive Jupiter Island, which is almost near completion.

When the couple finally settles, Tiger's monetary settlement will be the most expensive celeb divorce ever, dethroning the present reigning adulterer, Mel Gibson, who is worth about $950 million. Reportedly, his wife of 28 years is seeking half.
