In most running plays during a football game when there's a crowd of linebackers in your face, the coach usually advises the player to just go down, declare the play over and move on to the next one.
Although we don't know what city, town or state these kids are from, it appears that one player on this high school football team hasn't taken heed to basic football tactics. Instead he tries to ... make something out of nothing and fails horribly, making this the worst high school football play ever.
From the snap of the ball, it's apparent that the defense didn't fall for the handoff to the fullback, so the play was blown from the start. The quarterback scrambles to the left, and seeing that he's about to get sacked, tosses it to his running back - which is a really bad toss - and the running back proceeds to run the other way.
We're sure at this point the running back is now trying to avoid being tackled, as if he was playing a game of keep-away.
It takes two defenders to take him down, which would be great if he was running the other way, but as he was going down, he throws the football in the air.
Was he hoping a teammate would be around to catch it and run it 100 yards in the other direction for a touchdown?
Wasn't going to happen.
The entire defense is already there, and they recover the football in the end zone, giving them probably the easiest touchdown ever.

I think he was trying to throw an incomplete pass to avoid the loss of yardage he was going to take, but he was unable to throw the ball forward.

This is one prime example of why there should be drug testing in high school and college sports.

If this was one of my players, I would tell him you messed up... now put it behind you and get ready for our next drive. Whether the kid was trying to throw an incomplete pass or just get a safety is impossible to say. Give him some slack, One play does not define a career or make a bad player. A certain defensive tackle, all american, college hall of famer,2x pro bowl selection, and NFL record holder... Jim marshall has a famous play far worse than this. Kid put this one behind you, you probably have a game friday night and sense you cant change the past just worry about scoring TD's in the future. AOL you should be ashamed for covering this... make it right go to his next game and post one of his good plays on your homepage.

The worst football players are those that call themselves "educated professionals" and carry guns, do drugs, beat women, fight dogs and just plain act stupid.
