Woods didn't qualify for the team based on points. Instead, Pavin had to make him one of his four captain's picks. Woods wasn't an easy choice because he had a terrible season, and he tends to play poorly in the Ryder Cup.
In his history with the Ryder Cup, Woods has only gone 3-1-1 in singles competition. In team events, he is 6-12-1. The only Ryder Cup the US has won in the past decade was the one in which Tiger wasn't competing.
But golf is a business, and one thing that always holds true is that Tiger Woods fills the stands. Had Pavin chosen to leave Tiger off to the side, he would have gotten a tap on the shoulder from the powers that be who are mostly concerned with revenue generation. At the end of the day, it's all about the Benjamins.
Perhaps the Ryder Cup will be another step on Tiger's road to redemption. As it stands, the super hero we had last year has been replaced by a mediocre divorcee who admits that he's a sex addict. That doesn't work nearly as well for Madison Avenue. But Tiger's father once told him that if he puts the ball in the hole, all of his problems will go away. Well, at least most of them.

Ok Dr W,so where in your article is the person that you say "Not everyone wants him there"?? God do you always have to create some BS trouble when there is non?? Corey Pavin said he was Dang Glad to have Tiger on the team!! So why are you trying to start some sh**?? Is your life really that crappy that you have to pull stuff like this?? Yes Tiger has had a rough go at it since he came back, who wouldn't? He did very well in his last tourny, and will get nothing but better! You were complaining when his problems first happened that the "white golfers and sponsors" were so happy to see him fall, which was a Big Lie!! Then when they showed you wrong and welcomed him back when Tiger was ready, you switched gears accusing all of them of making money off of Tigers back?? Please stick to one crack pot theory and roll with it!! Was every one 100% supportive of him, no. But about 97% of the peepz involved in golf was sorry Tiger ended up in the situation (and plenty of them knew what was going on and NEVER TURNED TIGER OUT because he is a good guy and they liked him, YES DR W THE WHITE GUYS LIKED TIGER FOR WHO HE IS AND DID NOT JUDGE HIM BY HIS SKIN COLOR, which is some thing you seem to do a great deal) and have been very supportive of his come back! I don't think you would know the TRUTH if it bit you!! I read a lot of writers that I don't always agree with (Jam Donaldson being my favorite) but I respect her writing because she researches her stories and then lays it out as the facts reveal. YOU on the other hand, don't research any of your facts and flip flop on peepz motives or actions based on what kind of angle you are trying to impose! Can not respect any one who does that!!!!! You need to get your head right before you start posing as some kind of example or leader! As for Tiger, he will be just fine at the Ryder Cup and I am VERY sure his teamates are GLAD he is going to be with them!!!!

Thank you for noticing the same thing I did and writing about it. No link to the heading. I am still wondering who is the person or persons that are not happy. Dr. W, like the man said, stop trying to create a controversy where there is none.

When is the Tiger bashing going to stop? The man made a mistake. He is human, just like the rest of you who are running him down. Leave him alone and let him live his life. If it doesn't effect you it is none of your business how or what he does.
