Chris Henry's Donated Organs Save Four Lives

Chris Henry's Donated Organs Save Four LivesIt was almost a year ago when Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry died after falling off of a moving truck. He was arguing with his fiancée when she drove away and he hopped on the vehicle to try and reason with her. He stumbled out of the back of the truck, hit his head and died of massive brain trauma in a Charlotte, North Carolina hospital.

When doctors told Henry's mother, Carolyn Glaspy, that her son didn't survive the accident, she decided to have his organs donated.

"Chris was a giver," Glaspy told the L.A. Times. "If he knew he could help someone, he would have said yes."

Glaspy donated both of Henry's kidneys, his lungs, his liver, pancreas, his heart and his corneas. Earlier this month, Glaspy met four of the people whose lives were saved thanks to the organ donation, James Benton (liver), Brian Polk (kidney), Tom Elliott (lungs) and Donna Arnold (kidney, pancreas).
