From the Washington Post:
While the Miami Heat and its fans were reveling in a 15-point lead with about seven minutes remaining in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night, Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks were plotting an incredible comeback. During a timeout, reserve guard Jason Terry said he looked at star forward Dirk Nowitzki in the huddle and told him, "There's no way we're going out like this."
There was too much time remaining for a Mavericks team that has made a habit of coming back from huge deficits this postseason, too much time for Nowitzki to prove that Miami wasn't the only team with an all-star finisher. Nowitzki scored the Mavericks' final nine points - including a driving layup with his injured left hand - with 3.6 seconds remaining to give his team a stunning 95-93 victory.
Using a furious 22-5 closing rally, the Mavericks handed the Heat its first home loss this postseason and evened the NBA Finals at a game apiece as the series heads to Dallas for Game 3 on Sunday.
"I think in this league, you have to play till the end, especially, this is the Finals," Nowitzki said after getting his first Finals win in a building where Miami swept three home games against Dallas in order to win the championship in 2006. "You can be down 20. You have to keep plugging. You never know what's going to happen in this league. And we kept on fighting. And we got some lucky bounces there."

I was so happy that this game went the way it did. Now this is a series. I have to pick Dallas in 6. I dont care how the Heat fan base grew in the last 10 months, but they will come up short and guess who gets the ax.

Quote from article: ""I think in this league, you have to play till the end, especially, this is the Finals," Nowitzki said"
And that's the reason that The Dallas Mavericks will win the NBA championship.
Dallas plays the the entire 48 minutes from start to finish and Miami does not. Dallas has veterans (Notwiski, Kidd) who are always calm and don't panic under pressures no matter the circumstances and Miami doesn't have that in Wade, Lebron or Bosh who have that inexperienced swagger about them that gets them into trouble when the games are close in the 4th quarter.
The Miami Heat all season long, have not resolved that achilles heel that they continue to have...The inability to execute late and not close games in the final minutes when the games are close. They have to have huge leads going into or in the 4th quarter in order to win and during the regualr season against the good teams, they lost to those teams when the games were close.
They seem to lose focus, get scared & confused and Game 2 was a prime example of that; a punch in the gut to the Heat and now the Mavericks understand that in the end if the game is close, Miami cannot close the door, return to those bad habits and it's going to be really hard for Miami to win one (but they will) of the next 3 games being played in Dallas, and after these 3 games, Dallas will have a 3-2 lead going back to Miami and Miami will not beat Dallas in Miami two games in a row.
Cash the checks right now. 6 games, 4-2, The Dallas Mavericks wins the 2011 NBA Championship, game 6 in Miami.
Dirk Notwiski, 2011 finals MVP.
Miami will win it next year (barring injuries) since Dallas will be older, Boston and The Lakers will both be re-tooling next year.
