Did LeBron James of the Miami Heat deliberately diss the Cleveland Cavaliers and their fans again by skipping pregame introductions in Cleveland last night?

Some former fans followers of his @KingJames Twitter feed are ripping him for his no-show act before the Heat's 102-90 loss to the Cavaliers Tuesday night.

Introducing James at his former stomping grounds would have enabled jilted Cavs fans to loudly boo their former idol. But James, who was furiously booed during his first game back in Cleveland in December, dodged the ordeal by skipping his pregame introduction, then joining the Heat bench while the lights were out at Quicken Loans arena.

His excuse infuriated people even more. James explained after the game, "I was just using the restroom. Am I allowed to do that?"

"Someone should tell @KingJames to man up," said one tweeter. Another asked: "Could @KingJames be any more of a coward not even showing up for the introductions? Weak."

The TV announcers seemed surprised. On ESPN2's First Take Wednesday, former NBA player Tim Legler said he'd never seen anything like it. He thought it was a deliberate diss by James.

Blake Griffin jumped over a car and threw down an alley-oop dunk to win the 2011 Dunk Contest over the weekend. However, former NBA player and dunking sensation Shawn Kemp didn't think much of it.

The 41-year-old joined KJR in Seattle with Dave Mahler and Ian Furness on Wednesday and called Griffin's final dunk "weak."

"I'm a big Blake Griffin fan, but that dunk at the contest might've been the weakest dunk in the dunk contest that I've seen in a long time," Kemp said. "I love the choir and all that stuff was great, but you at least gotta jump over the car though right."

Kemp also said that he could jump over a car.

"I'm 41 years old and right now I could do it. Two Smart Cars," he said.

He's already returned twice to the NBA after multiyear hiatuses, but could Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan, who turns 48 on Thursday, return once again?

Jordan, who last played in 2003, joined the team's practice last week, fueling speculation that he might try another comeback, especially after his Hall of Fame induction speech in September 2009, when he said, "One day you may look up and see me playing a game at 50. Don't laugh. Never say never."

If Jordan returned, he would become the oldest player in NBA history and more than 20 years older than the average player in the league (26.8 years). While a player of Jordan's age would seem susceptible to frequent injuries over the course of an 82-game season, the Bobcats have already played 56 games. And given that they're ninth in the Eastern Conference, adding the greatest basketball player of all time -- even if he's half the player he used to be and only plays in every other game -- would probably boost ticket sales and bolster the Bobcats' chances of making the playoffs.

Chicago -- On Feb. 24, Michael Vick is scheduled to appear on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.' According to the daytime talk show's website, Oprah plans to discuss his time in prison, his subsequent return to the National Football League and his plans for the future.

Comments have flooded the Oprah Winfrey Show website since the announcement was made yesterday. Many individuals are expressing outrage that Oprah would "stoop" to having Vick, a former dog-fighter, make an appearance on her show.

Assumptions are being made that Oprah will welcome Vick to her highly acclaimed talk show with open arms.

What will take place remains to be seen. Being a long-time dog owner, as well as dog-advocate, perhaps she will use her own platform to ask some tough questions of Vick.

Oprah is a mega star in her own right - it is doubtful that she will be awestruck by Vick and his current success as the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback.

February 24 is just around the corner - undoubtedly Oprah's staff is reading the comments that are blasting the announcement of this guest on the show - how it plays out remains to be seen.

The Nets are closing in on a deal to bring Carmelo Anthony to New Jersey.
Talks on a three-team trade with the Denver Nuggets and Detroit Pistons continued Monday, a person with knowledge of the discussions told The Associated Press.

The trade would reunite Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton in New Jersey along with Anthony, the person said on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to publicly discuss the talks.

The three teams negotiated over the weekend and the source said the deal was ''advancing.''

However, there are potential roadblocks.

The deal would fall apart if Anthony refused to sign a three-year, $65 million contract extension with the Nets. Billups also has said he would be reluctant to leave Denver.

Anthony refused to discuss a potential deal before the Nuggets played New Orleans in Denver on Sunday night. He said afterward he didn't think a 96-87 loss was his last game in a Nuggets uniform.

''Uh-uh, not at all,'' he said, repeating the phrase ''not at all'' four times.
Asked if that was an indication he wouldn't sign the extension so the trade with the Nets could be consummated, Anthony demurred, saying: ''I haven't heard anything. Only, that it's just been speculation as of right now.''

Plaxico Burress
is scheduled to be released from the upstate Oneida Correctional Facility on June 6 -- in time for training camp, if there is no NFL lockout -- and there is growing support within the Giants organization to bring him back and give him a second chance.

Co-owner Steve Tisch already is on record as championing the troubled wide receiver's cause, and considers him a dear friend. Co-owner John Mara feels strongly that Burress has paid his debt to society. General manager Jerry Reese yesterday said the Giants would investigate a possible Plaxico II.

Now defensive captain Justin Tuck has told The Post he, too, would welcome Burress back.

"I know that he's paid his debt to society, and I think he's overpaid his debt to society," Tuck said.

"Yeah, I would love to see him back. We've all seen how the Mike Vick situation has played out. And we all know that Plaxico is one of the most talented wide receivers to ever play this game."

Burress, who will turn 34 in August, is serving a two-year sentence on weapons-possession and reckless-endangerment charges stemming from the infamous November 2008 nightclub incident in which he shot himself in the leg.

Eli Manning has been hampered by not having a red-zone threat like the 6-foot-5 Burress. Coach Tom Coughlin would have to sit down with Burress and be convinced he would not disrupt the team concept Coughlin has built.

Madison Square Garden
will be jumping tonight for what many are calling the biggest regular-season Knicks game in at least a decade.

Tickets for the matchup between the hometown ballers and the Miami Heat are sold out. But if you've got a spare $79,000, you can sit courtside near the likes of Knicks fanatic Spike Lee.

"We're going to kick LeBron's ass," Lee confidently predicted to the Daily News during a book-signing in Brooklyn last night. "We're going to win them all. It's like the old days."

The Heat-Knicks game, which features the Gotham-scorning LeBron James, attracted more buyers on StubHub.com than even their home playoff games in 2004 - the last year the team reached the postseason.

This morning before the celebrated matchup, King James held court at Chelsea club 1Oak - where balloons spelled out James' name - with Amar'e Stoudemire and Heat teammate Dwyane Wade. Stoudemire showed up at the club with model Amber Rose, and Wade arrived with actress Gabrielle Union.

The Knicks have won 13 of their last 15 games, losing a last-second heart-breaker to the Celtics Wednesday night. The question remains: Can they stop James?

"Who needs LeBron? We don't!" said Bruce Dines, 49, of Queens. "I'm actually glad that LeBron's not here. Amar'e Stoudemire has a chance to shine. You can see he's a superstar."

Boxing promoter Don King was stopped by security at Cleveland's Hopkins International Airport for having ammunition in his carry-on luggage.

Hopkins Airport spokeswoman Jacqueline Mayo says the 79-year-old King was stopped by members of the Transportation Safety Administration on Sunday night.

She says King had ammunition for .38-caliber and .357-caliber firearms in his bag.

Mayo says the ammunition was taken and that King was released to continue his trip, she believes to Florida. She said she didn't know if King received a citation.

King didn't immediately return a telephone message seeking comment.

WOIO-TV in Cleveland first reported the incident and said King was in Cleveland for his wife's funeral.

Eighty-seven-year-old Henrietta King died Thursday in Florida from complications from stomach cancer.

Tracy McGrady
believes there is a fundamental problem with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
"When they're on the court together," McGrady says, "they're terrible."

McGrady isn't saying LeBron and Wade are terrible as individual players but rather that the chemistry between the two isn't good.

"Him and D-Wade don't complement each other," McGrady said. "They're somewhat the same type of players, 'Bron and D-Wade. If you look at Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, (Allen's a) traditional shooting guard. Ray Allen, he doesn't need the ball. And Paul Pierce is a small forward. You add Kevin Garnett...

"(LeBron and Wade), they're not like that. Both of those guys need the ball and they don't shoot the ball like Ray Allen. That's why they're having trouble scoring in the halfcourt because they can't get a rhythm, because one of them is dominating the ball. That guy might be getting off, but the other guy (isn't).

"That's why when they're on the court together, they're terrible. They're rhythm players that need the ball. I'm like that. I can't stand out there and catch and shoot. I've never been a guy that sits out there waiting for the ball to come to me."

McGrady feels that if James had made up his mind to leave Cleveland he would have been better off in Chicago with Derrick Rose as his running mate.

"It was a better decision, a better place for him," said McGrady, who scored a season-high 13 points off the bench for the Pistons Sunday but was 0-for-3 after intermission. "You can't just go somewhere and have that type of chemistry he had in Cleveland."

Dwyane Wade's
marital problems have had more twists and drama than LeBron James' "The Decision."

Now the Miami Heat star thinks that his ex-wife Siohvaughn needs her head examined, quite literally.
Legal papers filed in Chicago court Monday request a judge order Siohvaughn undergo a psychiatric evaluation, reports a television station in the Windy City.

The crazytown allegation is just the latest missile fired by the warring sides in the fight for the custody of the couple's two sons.
In the past, Siohvaughn has accused her former high school sweetheart of causing the children emotional stress for being a little too touchy feely with his new gal pal, Gabrielle Union, in front of the kids.

Along with the allegations of infidelity, abuse and other lawsuits, Wade's ex has also spent a day in jail and has had the darnedest time holding on to a lawyer to represent her.

Mean while, Wade has been prepping for likely the biggest NBA season of his career while dealing with mounting distractions off the court.

Wade spent about a week in a Miami-Dade courtroom after being sued by a former business partner over a failed restaurant venture. That was settled, but probably feels like a breeze compared to his drawn out divorce and now the custody fight.
Wade wants sole custody of Zaire and Zion.

Wade has already told team president Pat Riley that he will miss part of training camp and the preseason to deal with his custody battle.

It's unclear when the judge will rule on the psychiatric evaluation.
